Summary of Professional Experience

I am a Documentary Filmmaker, Creative Producer, and Visual Storyteller with over 5 years of professional experience in development communication, documentary filmmaking, branded content, and impact storytelling. My work focuses on transforming complex social, developmental, and community-driven initiatives into compelling visual narratives that inspire awareness, engagement, and action.

Over the years, I have collaborated with leading organizations including World Food Programme (WFP), Welthungerhilfe (WHH), WASSAN, Odisha Millet Mission, Mission Shakti, Skill Odisha, World Skill Centre, BRPL, and various departments of the Government of Odisha. My work has involved documenting projects related to sustainable livelihoods, agriculture, food security, climate resilience, women empowerment, skill development, and rural transformation.

As a Documentary Filmmaker for WFP, I documented women-led livelihood initiatives under the RIISE project and created impact stories highlighting community resilience and sustainable development. I also worked on a documentary under Science4Society Technologies (S4S), showcasing how solar dryer technology empowers rural women by reducing food wastage and creating income-generating opportunities. For Welthungerhilfe (WHH), I produced success-story documentaries that captured the real-life impact of development interventions at the grassroots level.

Between 2023 and 2025, I worked with WASSAN as a Documentary Filmmaker and Visual Communication Consultant, documenting initiatives under Odisha Millet Mission and Mission Shakti. My responsibilities included research, scripting, field production, interviews, cinematography, editing, and stakeholder coordination. Through these projects, I closely engaged with farmers, women self-help groups, government officials, and local communities to create authentic and impactful stories.

In addition to development communication, I have worked as Associate Director on Odia feature films including Phalguna Chaitra, My Sweet Housewife, Kuhudi, and Mishiri. These experiences strengthened my expertise in storytelling, production management, script breakdown, team coordination, and creative direction.

My work also extends to CSR films, commercial campaigns, digital content, and cultural documentation. I have produced films and visual campaigns for corporate, government, and social-sector organizations, combining cinematic storytelling with strategic communication objectives.

With expertise in documentary filmmaking, scripting, cinematography, editing, and content strategy, I bring a comprehensive understanding of both creative production and development communication. I am passionate about amplifying grassroots voices and creating stories that connect communities, institutions, and stakeholders while contributing to meaningful social impact.

Education:

Educational Summary

I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing and Human Resources from the Central University of Odisha, where I developed a strong foundation in strategic communication, consumer behavior, organizational management, human resource development, and project planning. My academic journey equipped me with both analytical and managerial skills, enabling me to understand the intersection of communication, social development, and stakeholder engagement.

During my MBA, I gained practical exposure to market research, digital communication strategies, brand management, and organizational leadership. These learnings later became instrumental in shaping my career as a filmmaker and development communication professional, helping me bridge creative storytelling with strategic messaging and audience engagement.

Alongside my formal management education, I pursued specialized training in filmmaking through a workshop program at L V Prasad Film & TV Academy, where I enhanced my understanding of visual storytelling, cinematic language, direction, screenplay development, and production techniques. This exposure allowed me to combine business acumen with creative expertise, creating a unique professional profile that integrates communication strategy with impactful visual narratives.

My educational background has significantly contributed to my ability to conceptualize, manage, and execute documentary films, development communication campaigns, and social impact storytelling projects. It has enabled me to work effectively with government agencies, international organizations, NGOs, community institutions, and private-sector stakeholders while understanding diverse audience needs and communication objectives.

The combination of management education and filmmaking training has helped me develop a multidisciplinary approach to storytelling, research, project execution, and stakeholder collaboration. It has also strengthened my ability to translate complex development issues into accessible and engaging narratives that create awareness, inspire action, and drive meaningful social impact.

My continuous learning mindset, coupled with hands-on field experience, allows me to adapt to evolving communication technologies, digital media trends, and emerging storytelling methodologies. Through this blend of academic knowledge and professional practice, I strive to create meaningful content that contributes to social development, community empowerment, and sustainable change.
