Professional Experience:
I am an education professional with over ten years of experience in foundational learning, spanning curriculum design, teaching-learning material development, teacher professional development, and large-scale programme implementation with state governments across India.
I currently serve as Instructional Specialist - Academics and Curriculum at Help Us Help Them, Kolkata, where I lead the academic design and rollout of an integrated skill-academics curriculum framework for rural schools in West Bengal, and am now scaling it to five more Indian states with a target of 500 schools in each. My work involves designing contextual learning frameworks that connect rural skills with core academic pathways across Grades K–10, and leading the development of the full material suite that supports them curriculum guides, teacher guides, learner workbooks, assessment tools, and implementation resources. I also engage government stakeholders and external partners to ensure programme design aligns with NEP 2020, NCFSE 2023, and NIPUN Bharat.
Prior to this, I spent five years at Vikramshila Education Resource Society, progressing from State Academic Resource Person to Assistant Project Manager and then Manager, Numeracy. As Manager, I anchored the strategic design, implementation, and quality assurance of numeracy interventions across multi-state government and partner collaborations. I owned end-to-end academic quality for NIPUN AXOM in Assam, including the Learning Outcome framework, teacher guides, student workbooks, and NIPUN Bharat–aligned assessment tools. I managed the Forest School Development Project in Chirang, Assam, and led the Teaching Learning Practice Survey (TLPS) in Assam and Jharkhand from design through reporting. Alongside this, I represented the organisation in engagements with state education departments, contributing to curriculum alignment decisions, and served as a STEM educator in West Bengal schools in collaboration with the American Consulate.
In earlier roles at Vikramshila, I led the review and development of numeracy teacher guides and workbooks for NIPUN AXOM (Assam) and CM Rise (Madhya Pradesh), and in Uttar Pradesh led the review and modification of the Primary Grade Mathematics Curriculum for 2022–24 work that included designing a Home Learning Package to address COVID-19 learning loss and developing Grade 1–3 numeracy teacher guides and workbooks. I contributed to video scripts for the DIKSHA-based Learning Recovery Package and to digital foundational numeracy content for teacher development in Bihar.
Capacity building has been a consistent thread across my work. I have developed training architecture and facilitated high-level sessions for SIEMAT, State Resource Groups, and Academic Resource Persons in Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Tripura, and built the capacity of resource persons at state, district, and block levels under FLN initiatives.
My career began at the Azim Premji Foundation in Patna, where I worked directly with over 300 students and 200 government school teachers, supported the District Institute Operation in Mathematics, developed elementary mathematics training modules, and contributed to the Learner Assessment Programme, grounding my later systems-level work in classroom realities.
I hold an M.Sc. in Mathematics from Pondicherry University and a certification in Monitoring and Evaluation from CETE, TISS Mumbai. I work in Bengali, Hindi, and English.
