Professional Experience:

I am a Rural Development Professional with over five years of experience in designing and implementing community-based development and livelihood programmes across rural and tribal areas of India. My work has focused on poverty reduction, sustainable livelihoods, women's empowerment, community institution strengthening, and capacity building through partnerships with government agencies and non-profit organisations.

Currently, I serve as a Block Resource Person (BRP) with UMED – Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), supporting the implementation of the Maha Samruddhi Yojana in Akkalkuwa Block, Nandurbar district. In this role, I coordinate block-level programme implementation, facilitate household identification and micro-planning, oversee livelihood asset transfer, mentor community cadres such as Samruddhi Sakhis and Prabhag Sakhis, monitor programme performance, prepare management information system (MIS) reports, and work closely with district teams and community institutions to improve programme outcomes.

Previously, I worked with Caritas India as a District Programme Associate, contributing to child rights, education, and community development initiatives. I have also served as a Trainer with SIILC Pvt. Ltd. under the Atal Bhujal Yojana, where I conducted capacity-building programmes on participatory water resource management. Earlier in my career, I worked with Trrain Trust to facilitate employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and with ANNADA as a Project Coordinator, supporting nutrition and community health interventions for vulnerable children.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in project planning, stakeholder coordination, training facilitation, monitoring and evaluation, data management, report writing, and participatory rural appraisal. I have successfully collaborated with government departments, community-based organisations, self-help groups, and development partners to deliver inclusive and sustainable development interventions.

My academic background in Social Work and Women's Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) complements my field experience and has strengthened my commitment to evidence-based, community-centred development. I am passionate about creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, strengthening local institutions, and improving the socio-economic well-being of vulnerable communities through innovative and participatory approaches.

Education:

I hold a Master of Arts in Women's Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, where I specialized in gender, women, children, and family development. The programme strengthened my understanding of gender equality, social policy, community development, research methodologies, and inclusive development practices.

Prior to this, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Tuljapur, with a specialization in Rural Development. The curriculum provided a strong foundation in participatory rural development, sustainable livelihoods, community mobilisation, project planning, monitoring and evaluation, and social welfare programmes. Fieldwork and practical assignments enabled me to work closely with rural and tribal communities, enhancing my skills in need assessment, capacity building, and programme implementation.

My academic journey has equipped me with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in addressing complex social and development challenges. It has strengthened my ability to design and implement community-based interventions, facilitate stakeholder engagement, analyse socio-economic issues, and contribute to evidence-based planning. This educational background continues to support my professional work in rural livelihoods, poverty alleviation, women's empowerment, and sustainable community development.
