Professional Experience:

I am a public health professional with an MD in Community Medicine and DNB, currently working as a Senior Resident in the Department of Community Medicine at Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS). I bring over five years of cumulative experience in public health programme implementation, disease surveillance, health systems strengthening, capacity building, and research, both at institutional and field levels.

At ANIIMS, I am actively engaged in the implementation of national health programmes in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services and NHM, Andaman & Nicobar Administration. I serve as the Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) and Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) Surveillance for the tertiary care hospital (G B Pant Hospital), where I oversee weekly data reporting, outbreak detection, and response coordination. I have contributed to supportive supervision, microplanning, and monitoring activities under NPCDCS, NPCBVI, NPHCE, and NPPC.

I am the designated link officer for both Urban and Rural Health Training Centres affiliated with ANIIMS. My responsibilities include mentoring field staff, conducting trainings, ensuring quality implementation of community outreach activities, and contributing to academic sessions for undergraduates and interns. I have conducted several health education sessions and IEC campaigns on key public health themes, including nutrition, mental health, and maternal-child care.

During my postgraduate training at Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, I was actively involved in field-based programme implementation and evaluation. I collaborated with the District Immunization Officer during the rollout of UWIN under IMI 5.0, and led Project Rudhir, a targeted anaemia control initiative in coordination with RBSK teams. I also facilitated the launch of the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Sarvekshan Yojana, a state-level health screening programme in rural Haryana.

I have a strong orientation towards research and evidence-based practice, having authored 10 indexed publications and 3 book chapters. My research spans areas like health literacy, NCDs, hypothyroidism management, faculty development, and health service quality assessment. I have presented at national and international conferences, including the IDF World Diabetes Congress 2025. My research skill set includes both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and I am proficient in using tools such as SPSS and Stata.

Additionally, I have contributed as a resource person for training programmes on geriatric health (NPHCE), and participated in curriculum delivery aligned with competency-based medical education (CBME). I am adept at developing training modules, SOPs, mentoring tools, and monitoring frameworks for public health initiatives.

With strong communication skills in English and Hindi, I am effective at liaising with government officials, field teams, and academic stakeholders. My professional ethos is grounded in integrity, evidence-based action, and community-centered health improvement. I seek opportunities that allow me to apply my diverse experiences to contribute to scalable, equitable, and quality public health outcomes, particularly in maternal and child health.
