Roles & Responsibilities
Led and supported national digital health and data system initiatives in close collaboration with Ministry of Health, Rwanda, including Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) and Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) teams.
Worked with Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT), Rwanda, aligning interoperable data architectures with national digital transformation priorities.
Collaborated extensively with Ministry of Health, Indonesia, specifically PUSDATIN (Pusat Data dan Informasi Kesehatan), on national diagnostic data frameworks and interoperability initiatives.
Developed and deployed DHIS2 dashboards integrated via interoperable middleware from REDCap, enabling real-time monitoring for national programs.
Supported cross-country stakeholders in Indonesia and Rwanda on data governance, standards, and capacity building aligned with WHO and global digital health best practices.
Contributed to AI-enabled digital health initiatives, including LLM-based clinical screening and reporting tools, in collaboration with Laboratory for Intelligent Global Health & Humanitarian Response Technologies (LiGHT), EPFL.
Other roles involve:
Collaborate with Diagnostic Technology Manufacturers: Work with diagnostic (Dx) technology manufacturers to develop and incorporate digital capabilities into product workflows, enhancing usability and functionality.
Middleware Development and Integration: Facilitate the development or customization of middleware to ensure seamless integration of near-point-of-care (near-POC) Dx technologies with clinical workflows and disease management programs, streamlining processes for better patient outcomes.
Policy Alignment for Interoperability: Ensure that the design and digital components of Dx technologies comply with global and national policies on interoperability and enterprise architecture. This includes aligning with standards like HL7 or FHIR to enable seamless communication across healthcare systems.
Digitization of Instructions for Use (IFUs): Support the digitization of Dx technology IFUs to ensure accurate, reliable, and standardized result outcomes, reducing errors and improving clinical decision-making.
Development of Digital Adaptation Kits: Collaborate with project leads to identify partners and facilitate the development of digital adaptation kits required for setting up connectivity tools, enabling efficient deployment of solutions.
Support Connectivity Adoption: Assist in implementing and promoting the use of connectivity solutions at the country level, ensuring their adoption across healthcare systems and facilities.
Assessments and Surveys: Conduct surveys and assessments of software applications and the existing technology infrastructure in project locations to evaluate readiness and identify gaps in alignment with project objectives.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, policy alignment, and collaborative efforts to enable the successful implementation of Dx technologies and digital solutions in healthcare workflows. It contributes significantly to strengthening healthcare systems and improving accessibility and outcomes through the integration of advanced diagnostic capabilities.
