Professional Experience:

My background in social work and exposure to interdisciplinary research have equipped me to engage in multidisciplinary studies based on the requirements of the research, and I possess valuable communication skills along with a strong sense of empathy. I have professional working proficiency in English and can convey complex ideas clearly and concisely. I understand the importance of making research accessible and relevant to various audiences, as I believe research findings should not be limited to academic circles but should also contribute to society. Critical thinking and reflection, along with balancing the emotional and practical aspects of analyzing social phenomena, have enabled me to conduct thorough analyses and make informed decisions that lead to impactful research outcomes.

Throughout my academic journey, I have engaged in extensive grassroots-level research. During my master's program, I completed a dissertation focused on menstruation titled “A Group Intervention Study on Menstrual Adjustment Among Adolescent Girls of Rural Rajasthan.” This involved conducting extensive fieldwork in northern India regarding menstrual health and hygiene. Building on the insights gained from this research, I delved deeper into the topic for my M.Phil. dissertation, which focused on understanding menstrual hygiene management in schools. The title of this dissertation is “The Role of Schools in Menstrual Hygiene Management: A Study in Rural Rajasthan.” This experience has not only deepened my knowledge but has also reinforced my commitment to practical engagement in the field, ensuring that the research conducted leads to applicable solutions for real-world issues. My PhD topic, “ is a result of the extensive research and literature review I conducted beforehand. The literature highlights the scarcity of ethnographic studies from an Indian perspective. For my PhD dissertation, I explored the intersectionality of menstrual practices in rural India, drawing on insights gathered during an ethnographic study I conducted in Rajasthan over two years. Additionally, during my PhD, I contributed articles about menstruation to the online media platform Feminism in India, as well as to journals like Culture, Health and Sexuality and Women's Reproductive Health. Further, I have actively collaborated with NGOs to conduct menstrual health and hygiene awareness sessions for rural women and schools. I am eager to bring my skills in qualitative research and grassroots work, along with critical thinking, to your esteemed institution. I believe that my dedication to social work, empathetic approach, and practical working style will enable me to contribute effectively as part of your team.
